Nature & Landscape Photography
My photography is driven by my love of nature and travel; influenced by the joy I experience through quiet, understated architectural design; and stimulated by the colors and shapes present in each sunrise and sunset. I am honored to be able to capture these visual experiences, take hold and process them through my lens, and then share these incredible displays of nature and man with you through my Fine Art Prints.
Every photographer pursues their craft in their own personal way. Each of us is apt to experience different visualizations and perspectives of the very same area, region or scene. Personally, I have a love and attraction to sunrises and sunsets.
When I look at the scene which nature is providing me, I subconsciously embrace every element of "that" sunrise or sunset. To grab my attention and draw me in, the scene has to address and utilize every element in the palette, such as the density, movement or elevation of clouds in relation to the water or ground surface. Where is the sun in relation to me or surrounding landmarks? Is the sky clear, or is it dark from a passing or building storm? Are there additional elements such as animals, people, ships or vehicles? How do wind or waves impact the overall canvas that I am working to create?

A successful sunrise or sunset photograph is not simply a point and shoot moment. It is the result of the elements that my eyes perceive, what I am able to capture through the use of the correct lens, and how I deploy my knowledge to choose the appropriate camera settings.
An additional area that I am drawn to and experience deep satisfaction from is finding scenes, subjects or places that allow me to replicate the look, colors and feel of a watercolor painting through my photography and print paper selection. If this is of interest to you, I encourage you to visit Gallery Section 5: Are They Photographs ... or Watercolors? Here you will have the opportunity to experience Fine Art Photographs which provide the feel and look of a watercolor.
