MEET OUR ARTIST
Sandra Starck
Printmaker
The beauty found in living alongside Lake Superior encourages me to study rhythms, patterns, and colors in our environment that are created by the interplay of Wind, Water, and Light. I pay attention to the lake’s daily moods; I watch the sky, observe the weather, and enthuse over our local birds, flora, fauna, and geology. Nature is my Holy Muse; my work seeks to give form to the poetic and sensory elements of Lake Superior’s Spirit. I hope the artworks invite viewers to contemplate the wonders and beauty of this Life and to feel a sense of the sweet joy in simply Being. Here. Now.
Sandra’s Master of Fine Arts (MFA) graduate degree is in Printmaking from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville; her undergraduate degree is in Art Education from the University of Wisconsin - Stout. Her expertise is in drawing and fine art printmaking; she also enjoys photography, painting, and stained glass. Having been a university professor of art for over forty years, Sandra now enjoys days in her studio or out and about walking in Nature. There’s so much yet to do in Art and in Life, all in dwindling time. Every moment is a gift.
